Matt Webb of Regent Realty, NAI Harcourts Hawke’s Bay, has been named as the Commercial and Industrial Rising Star of the Year at this years’ Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) awards 2020.
Having moved into the commercial property industry just two years ago after 18 years in the education sector, Matt has evidently made a great life choice by joining the thriving team at Harcourts Regent Realty.
Having been named as the NAI Harcourts New Zealand Rising Star of the Year in May this year, Matt said although it is a ‘great honour’, that ‘people do not achieve things on their own’ and he said he ‘learns new things from everyone he meets’.
Of winning the nationwide accolade for Commercial and Industrial Rising Star of the Year, he adds, ‘I’ve had some great role models along the way’ and he acknowledged the support and mentorship of both Kaine Wilson Business Owner Regent Realty and James Cooper General Manager Regent Realty for enabling his success.
Matt says his secrets to success are, being a good listener, being empathetic and being able to ask the right questions. He says that ‘people want to talk to someone who makes them feel valued and listened to’, so he works hard to ensure that he makes time for people regardless how big or small the enquiry might be.
James Cooper General Manager Regent Realty Hawke’s Bay says, ‘I am extremely proud of Matt and everything he has achieved in his time working with Regent Realty. He is not only a top achiever in his role, he is also a fantastic colleague and friend to everyone in our team’.
