Programme Overview

The Harcourts Havelock North Real Estate Scholarship Programme has been designed for motivated people who are seriously considering a career in real estate or existing salespeople that want to join a Company that offers mentoring, training and the opportunity to further their career. 
 
The programme allows you to pursue a real estate career while receiving financial support. This gives you security as you gain traction in the industry. You'll receive unparalleled training, knowledge, support and leadership from the best in the real estate industry.
 
The programme runs for a six-month period and is available to anyone new or existing to sell real estate.
 

For new people with no experience, after the first six months, successful candidates are offered integration, by way of a contract, into Harcourts Havelock North office to further advance their real estate career. This opportunity will be further supported by ongoing professional development courses through the Harcourts Training Academy.
 

For existing salespeople, successful candidates are offered immediate employment to further advance their career.

Successful candidates need to be prepared to invest in themselves to gain their real estate licence and ideally are well connected with the Havelock North community.

Who Runs the Scholarship Programme?

The Harcourts Havelock North Real Estate Scholarship Programme is run by Regent Realty Ltd.

Who is the programme for?

 

Harcourts Hawke’s Bay Real Estate Scholarship Programme has been created and designed for:

 

Exceptional people that have a desire to succeed in the real estate profession

People who have not sold real estate before or existing real estate salespeople

People who are already studying for a New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate or who are prepared to do so in the near future

 

What is the minimum requirement for entry?

 

18 years of age

Legally entitled to work in New Zealand

Be prepared to invest in your own licensing costs

Have a valid New Zealand driver's licence and own your own registered and warranted vehicle

 

When do applications open?

8am 22 February 2019

 

When do applications close?

5pm 1st April 2019

 

What costs are associated with the program?

 

New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate (Sales Person) [Level 4] approximately $1,095* inc GST payable on enrolment

REA Sales person license approximately $939.55* inc GST payable when applying for licence

Stage 2

Suitable applicants will be contacted by phone whereby you will be asked a few more questions to determine your suitability for the program, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the programme.

 

Stage 3

Interviews will be conducted with suitable applicants.

 

Stage 4

You will be notified of the outcome of your application as soon as practicable and the successful applicant will be placed within the Harcourts office based in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay once they have completed their REA salesperson licence or if already licenced, can begin immediately.

Do I need any real estate experience to apply?

No as Harcourts have the very best of training, mentoring and systems in place
 
When do I get my real estate licence?

Once the interviewing stage is completed and the successful candidate is appointed, you will be enrolled in your real estate training course which will help you complete your New Zealand Certificate. Once that is complete you will be able to apply for your Real Estate Agents Authority (REA) licence to allow you to legally sell real estate. Harcourts provide a comprehensive support network in person and online to provide 24/7 access to support to get you licenced as soon as possible.
 
How long will it take to begin selling real estate?

The New Zealand certificate has a total of 50 credits (13 Papers) and is broken into 4 modules.  The time it takes to complete these is up to the individual.  You have up to 6 months to complete the course.

We would suggest you continue to work in your existing employment until you obtain your licence.

Once your New Zealand Certificate has been issued, you will be able to start selling under the guidance of your Manager.  We will ensure you have a thorough induction into the business, ongoing training and mentoring over the following 6 months and beyond.

How much is the base remuneration?

This will be a discussion between the scholar and the Franchise Owner. It will be both a base salary and potential to earn commission.
