Hawke’s Bay is wonderful place to work, live and play and it’s an incredible privilege to call Hawke’s Bay home.  There are many things that make this region great, but at its core are the people, community and organisations who work tirelessly to make our region special.   

 

One of these organisations is Cranford Hospice.  Harcourts Luxury Property Selection is proud to be the Auction Partner for The Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction, which raises funds for Cranford.  It’s an absolute honour to be able to support Cranford Hospice and we are in awe of the work that they do, as is everyone who has been touched by Hospice and their wonderful team. 

 

We are also excited that the Harcourts Foundation has partnered with Hospice New Zealand to launch the Hospice Grants Programme. To start the programme the Foundation has donated $55,000 and pledged ongoing support.  The Foundation is the embodiment of what it means to be part of Harcourts and really is at the heart of our core values – people first, doing the right thing, being courageous and fun and laughter.

New Year – New Home

I am delighted to announce that James Cooper has been appointed General Manager of Harcourts Hawke's Bay.

James comes to the business with 15 years’ experience in media, marketing and communications. The past 4 years he has successfully managed the Eastern Region for NZME. This role covered Hawke’s Bay, Taupo, Gisborne and Rotorua. Whilst at NZME, James was responsible for leading the content, sales and the marketing strategies for the eastern region. Most recently, James was awarded NZME General Manager of the Year and also led the Hawke’s Bay Sales team to the final for the 2016 New Zealand Radio Awards.

James has a strong background in marketing and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. In 2010 he graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Waikato, where his major research project investigated ways to improve the overall customer experience. James is also passionate about people, the local community and learning.

The Hawke's Bay market to date in 2016 is continuing to show strong growth, and at Harcourts we have continued to capture more and more listings to offer our purchasers. This is mainly due to the Teams commitment to the companies re-branding and re-positioning the company to our clients.


As Craig indicated last month the company not only changed logos but also with this brand refresh we had a look at our identity and the reasons why someone would choose to work with Harcourts. What a wonderful start to 2016, on January 18th we launched our new brand and have received fantastic feedback from our Vendors, customers and the community at large. While we already had a strong brand, the enhancements have brought Harcourts and the world of Real Estate into a new era, with the skills, training and technology to match the fresh new look.


January has continued on the trends starting to take place at the end of 2015, with a short supply of listings driving the median prices up and days to sell down across the Bay. There is starting to be a strong influx of out of town purchasers making their way to our promised land that is Hawke's Bay for the life style we all enjoy, so with a large not only local, nationwide but international presence in the market, Harcourts Hawke's Bay is poised to have a remarkable year.

Throughout 2015 Harcourts conducted a worldwide company audit to analyse our brand and brand strategy. We needed to ensure that our brand still represented who we are and who we plan to become. While the audit came out with plenty of positive feedback as being strong, trusted and professional, it identified that we also needed to be seen to be dynamic or modern.  Our new blue is darker, a colour seen as being more premium, and the lighter blue makes us more approachable, more modern and more conversational.

With 2015 nearly behind us it is time to reflect on the fantastic year that we are leaving behind and look forward to what great things will come in 2016.


The Local real estate sector in Hawke's Bay has had a strong year in 2015 with monthly sales volumes reaching their highest levels in the past 5 years and days to sell hitting their lowest number since 2007, all positive signs as the demand outweighs supply but what does it all really mean.


With buyer pressure being put on limited stock, we have seen most well-presented properties receiving multiple offers and properties listed under the Harcourts Hawke's Bay Auction banner experiencing a 72% success rate during their campaign so far in 2015, all this has resulted in a mild rise in the Hawke's Bay region Median price and the Real Estate fraternity is looking eagerly towards 2016 to see where it will head to.


So as we head towards the festive season the team here at Harcourts Hastings, Havelock North, Taradale and Napier thank all of customers, clients and associates for their support and business throughout 2015, wish you all a very merry Christmas and prosperous 2016.
